Have you just bought your first computer. I know exactly how you feel.

Excited at first, then fear as you have no idea what to do.

You had no idea it would be this difficult just plugging it in.

Maybe the best thing is to buy a

'how to' book. This can be a big decision.

Are you an idiot or a dummy?

If your unsure then buy both as I did.

Frustration can set in big time those first few months. Everything can seem so damn difficult.
It seems the computer is far more intelligent and often refuses to do anthing you want it to do.

I used to be amazed at the number of people who spent most of their time on the computer playing patience.
That is until I discovered the reason.

SOFTWARE!

Some software programs can be a total pain to install.

Then you realise it isn't that good so it's time to remove it.

Some programs are like some visitors, they just won't go.
Usually it's some demo you found on a magazine cd,
so you admit defeat and give up.

I recall attempting to install a demo and the instructions were something like 'go to run' etc.
I had to think about this, where did it expect me to 'run' to!
Doing healthy things like'running'wasn't in my plans at all. I actually know some people who
do tasks like 'gardening, housework, mowing and other exercises that sound really horrible.
The easy solution is use the computer to play Patience.

You don't have to install Patience, it's already there so go ahead
and play it till your hearts content,
and to hell with the software installions.

          Most of the instructions for
installing software say "Easy To Install".

(Sure)
What it should have said is
"Easy to operate if you have a degree in
                computer programs".

Think about it. Computer genius's write these programs and then expect us 'dummys' to use them. Is it any wonder some people get the urge to throw the computer out the window.

Lets move on to the next section. Plenty of rage and stress ahead to the
Errors section which covers more computer stress.
